Mini Museums are distributed art museums, scattered throughout the community, showcasing art that doesn’t get seen in traditional art Institutions.

While museums are closed from the Covid-19 pandemic, how can we view art? Is street art, art? Art is already all around us, but for some reason we need to view it in a museum in order to consider it worth while.

To complete the experience, I solicited my friend Renata Keck, who was studying Interaction Design and Research at The University of Baltimore, to use MiniMuseums for her Independent Study.
Along with Christine Ramos, Renata and Christine developed an online experience for MiniMuseum “visitors”. By scanning a QR code, visitors are able to explore the inside of each museum through 360 degree photos.

Local Love - Art Show Debut - July 2021
Special thanks for Justin Young for including Mini Museums in the Summer 2021 Local Love show in Oakland.
HUGE THANK YOU TO ASHLEY TERRY
Ashley helped paint, assemble, and schlep, in addition to designing, art-ing, and answering my questions for the website after I was hit by a car in July 2021. Mini Museums wouldn’t be out in the wild or in Local Love without her. <3

This project was an idea formed from a class I took from SVA Continuing Education called Unconventional Museums taught by Christian Breed. 10/10 would recommend!
